Electrical Testing

As an NICEIC Approved Contractor, Davis Electrical covers all aspects of electrical testing and certification.

Electrical Installation Testing

Testing should be carried out regularly on all electrical installations to ensure that they meet current safety standards and IET regulations.

New electrical installations will be inspected, tested and certified once completed, making sure that they adhere to the current BS7671 regulation.

Condition Reports & Landlord Electrical Testing

Periodic testing should take place at regular intervals, the timing of which will depend on whether it’s a commercial, residential or rented property. Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICR) will look at the installation as a whole, to see if the distribution boards have the required relevant protection, as well as all switches, lights and sockets. It will detect any areas of concern due to wear and tear, or to bring the installation up to new regulation should it be required.

Landlord EICR testing is a national standard set out in the Wiring Regulations BS7671. Every five years or after change of tenancy (whichever is sooner) our qualified engineers can help landlords make sure their rental properties meet the required safety standards. Since June 2020 this has now been made mandatory.

Distribution Board Upgrades

Electrical testing is primarily focused around the fuse board as this is where most faults and dangers can occur. If the fuse board needs upgrading due to it not meeting current safety regulation, being overloaded or not in good working condition, then we can recommend remedial work to correct this and bring it back up to your requirements and make sure it is fit for purpose.
